Peter Friedman, PhD
Dr. Peter Friedman retired from the US Navy where he served as a submarine officer and Naval Academy professor and began a second career as a college professor at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth where he became the mechanical engineering department chairman. As the son of an Air Force officer and a Naval officer himself, Peter has lived at 39 locations in 14 states and 3 countries and although he loves to travel, he is happy to settle down. He holds a Bachelor and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. Peter and his wife Sylvia are the parents of one daughter and five cats and are both active volunteers at the Gloucester Mathews Humane Society. In addition to the Gloucester Mathews Humane Society, he is involved with the Rotary Club of West Point where he serves as club treasurer and the Veterans of Foreign Wars where he serves as the Post Quartermaster.
